Gameplay

Draw card

Ticket to Ride offers 8 types of train cards corresponding to 8 colors of train lines. Each type of train card includes 12 train car cards along with 14 additional train cards that are compatible with all colors of train cards. During a turn, you will have the right to choose to draw cards from the floor in many ways such as drawing face-up cards or drawing face-down cards from the pile. If you draw a face-up card, you must use the first card in the face-up pile to replace the face-up card you took.

In some cases, among the 5 face-up train cards, there is a leading train card there. If you want to take it, it means you won’t have any more draws in this round. Besides, if there are 3 leading cards in the 5 face-up cards, they will be discarded and replaced by 5 new cards from the card pile. In addition, when the pile is exhausted, the used cards will be collected and shuffled into a new pile and the game continues. However, the number of cards held in each person’s hand is unlimited. So when the pile is exhausted and no leaves are used, everyone is forced to own the route, draw a ticket to it, or build a station.

Own the route

To own a train route, you first need to determine its color and use the corresponding card color. Players should note that the number of train cars on the map means that you must own enough train cards of the same color to be able to build a route.
