The Wreck is an interactive visual novel story with stunning 3D watercolor-based art. Listen to the characters, see the space of memories and help a person find changes in the present to welcome the future. The story sounds very sad, but if you have the sincerity to overcome it, the future is still waiting ahead.
Introduce about The Wreck
Memories, present and future, which part of your life will you choose to live!
A trip into faded memories
Strange, fragmentary, fuzzy pieces of memory occasionally appear in your head, becoming more and more frequent. At first you thought it was a dream about someone. But the frequency with which they appear in your head increases, to the point where you think you are the person in that memory, that those trivial, hard-to-explain events really happened to you in the past.
That’s how The Wreck started. On the background of 3D watercolor graphics, dull and pale color tones, discrete movements as if someone was shaking the screen began to appear. You, a female screenwriter, are old and currently in the most tragic period of your life. Inspiration is blocked, nothing goes well at work, every project fails, and in general, it’s a complete failure.
Junon is trying to find a way to regain her creative juices, trying to get through the days ahead. She chose to close the door to her room every day, only opening a single small window, blocking out all the noise outside and starting to spend a lot of time pondering everything.
It was also during this time that countless such fragmented memories surfaced. She doesn’t know who they belong to, are they her memories? So why did she never remember her childhood days like that? What matters is where these memories lead her and why they are both so strange and so clearly visible.
Following Junon, exploring that area of faded memories, you will understand a human life story, from the past, to growing up, and to failure. From there, it helps the girl in the story to overcome the unsatisfactory present and find a way towards a brighter future.
Relive the past, what you must do if you want to heal the future
Junon clearly had a huge psychological trauma as a child. Most players, when going to those fragmented memories, can somewhat vaguely guess it. However, to help your character solve problems in the present, and move forward to a better future, you cannot skip any seconds of memory. Watch little by little, think, connect discrete events together and you will gradually get a more comprehensive picture of what happened in Junon’s past.
Next, the question of why Junon forgot all of these memories also gradually emerged. This is the key to deciphering the current stagnation and boredom. Solving it, you will let your character open a gate to the future.
Indirectly and directly change the current
From the knowledge, observations, and connections gained from past events, a pitiful person filled with past pain buried deep in a corner of her heart and mind gradually emerged. Childhood trauma made Junon determined to lock everything away for many years. But now when facing her stepmother who is about to leave, many things come back.
The more you understand Junon’s trauma, the more you will be able to help your character interact with things and people around her differently. This interactive process will unintentionally open up new dialogue options. This is Junon’s way of opening her heart, finding ways to resolve and mend previous relationships that were broken because of her.
Redefining a new future
As the relationships around her gradually change, as her mood improves, and old wounds gradually close, Junon will learn how to move forward on her own and find peace in her soul.
Maybe she and you don’t need to do anything to time travel at all. What you need to do is let the character live to the fullest in the present, positively changing existing relationships. These changes will bear fruit, far or near, it’s just a matter of time. Accordingly, Junon’s future will gradually become much brighter.
