The Attack Squad is an upgraded version of Emergency Call 112, set in Germany with a professional fire department. The game puts you in the role of a member of the Einsatzbereit, a rapid response team that handles fires, traffic accidents, or rescues civilians in dangerous situations. Instead of just controlling a single character, you can also switch between team members to coordinate actions, a detail that adds complexity and depth to the gameplay.
Introduce about The Attack Squad
The Attack Squad with rescue gameplay
One of the things that makes The Attack Squad impressive is its incredibly detailed simulation. Each mission in the game is built like a professional exam. You have to go to the right scene, set up a safety barrier, position the fire truck in a favorable position, pull the water hose from the public pumping station, connect it to the pump on the truck, and then start spraying water to put out the fire. If you think that just bringing out the hose and shooting randomly is enough, please go back to Flashing Lights to ease your mind.
The power cut-off mechanism is also an important factor. In residential fires, if the power is not cut off in time, spraying water can cause electrocution to the victim or the electrical system to explode, endangering the entire team. You need to find the electrical panel, check the diagram, and then select the main circuit breaker to cut off the entire power. This is a small detail but very close to reality, increasing the tension of each seemingly simple task.
In addition, the control system of supporting equipment such as rotating ladders, hoists, or hydraulic cutters also requires precise operation. In a rescue mission for a person trapped in a car due to an accident, you will have to use pliers to cut the door, then use a shield to prevent broken glass from flying at the victim with completely manual operations, and if you are careless, the system will not allow you to proceed to the next step.
Mission
The mission “Verkehrsunfall mit Gefahrgut” (Traffic accident with hazardous materials) requires you to first verify the type of chemical leak (via the ADR warning sign on the container), then send personnel in chemical protective suits (Chemikalienschutzanzug) to deal with the leak, while the remaining team separates the injured from the vehicle, blocks the crowd, and establishes a containment zone (Sperrzone).
Some missions can have variables if handled slowly. For example, a fire spreads from the first floor to the second floor, a gas pipe explodes, or a victim falls into a coma and needs to be resuscitated before being transported.
In The Attack Squad, the situation system happens in real time, where things don’t wait for you to finish before happening. Each mission is an open chain, which can change depending on your actions, and sometimes… not acting in time.
Switch characters while on mission
One interesting aspect of The Attack Squad is that you can switch between team members to coordinate tasks, rather than just issuing orders like many other strategy games (though you can also communicate with your teammates in-game). This allows you to directly intervene in important actions, such as driving a car yourself, climbing a ladder, or performing a delicate rescue operation.
However, the AI teammates are still a bit of a pain. Sometimes they will stand by the water tap without connecting the hose, or forget to put on a smoke mask when entering a burning house. This forces you to check every step and sometimes “do it yourself” to ensure the progress of the mission.
Graphics and sound
The Attack Squad has a relatively realistic graphic background. No flashy colors, no excessive explosion effects, but the smoke and light in emergency situations are done quite well. From the red flashing lights of the fire truck reflecting on the wall, to the black smoke rolling in the apartment, everything gives a very real feeling of suffocation.
The fire truck models, uniforms, and tools are all inspired by the German fire department, especially MAN and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and are accurately simulated both inside and out. The sound of the vehicle running, the siren, the wind whistling when opening the door of a burning room, all are carefully integrated, creating a quite vivid environment. Although not reaching the AAA level, for a realistic simulation game, such graphics and sound are enough to create a tense and realistic atmosphere for players.

The Attack Squad requires you to think like a real firefighter. You have to act quickly, act correctly, control the situation, and use your brain. If you like realism, want to experience the feeling of driving a fire truck in the middle of a German street, opening the car door yourself to save people, and patiently learning how to operate each device, then The Attack Squad deserves to be in your game library. But if you like superhero-style rescues, then this game will teach you a lesson in reality, with smoke, fire, and a few times getting lost in a 4-story building.
