This is the step that can easily cause you to make mistakes, if you only focus on war without thinking long-term. Don’t let your entire army attack here and there, leaving the territory empty.

How to use dice?

When you attack an adjacent territory, both sides roll dice to decide which piece “dies first”.

• Attacking side: can roll up to 3 dice, but you need to have at least 4 pieces in that area (1 piece to defend, 3 pieces to attack). The number of dice rolled corresponds to the number of pieces you use to attack.
• Defending side: Can roll up to 2 dice, if that area has at least 2 pieces left. If there is only 1 piece, of course, only 1 piece is rolled.

The results from the dice of both sides will be compared according to the following principles:

• The highest number of the attacker compared to the highest number of the defender.
• The second highest number (if any) of the two sides is also compared similarly.

The winner is the team with the higher number. If the defense wins, the attacker’s pieces are subtracted. If the offense wins, the defender’s pieces are gone! It’s that simple, but the dice make RISK: Global Domination incredibly unpredictable. No matter how carefully you calculate, you can’t control everything.
